South West Region D&T Group - Budj Bim Visit (PL1918)
On August 2, we will be honoured to join the South West Regional Group on a guided tour of the Budj Bim Cultural Landscape.
Sacred to the Gunditjmara people, the Budj Bim National Heritage Landscape provides evidence of the world's oldest aquaculture systems and therefore of an ancient and sophisticated engineering of natural resources.
Budj Bim has just been awarded World Heritage Status. It is the first site to be listed exclusively for Aboriginal cultural values.
Anyone is welcome to join this very special visit. We'll be welcomed on country by a Gunditjmara guide and will explore the fish and eel traps at Tyrendarra.
If enough people are interested we can arrange group transport from Melbourne for an additional cost.
