DATTA Vic has received support from the Google Educator Grant to deliver a FREE STEM professional learning program for our members in Semester 2, 2022. 

The aim with the program is to support teachers to explicitly address the Victorian STEM-related curricula – particularly Mathematics and Design and Technologies – through a school VEX robotics program. 

This project will show how robots can provide the "hook" that enables students to connect with STEM by applying their skills to a real-world setting. 

Each participating school will be given a vision sensor kit so they can use robotics as an engaging way to explore mathematical and scientific concepts. This kit will be theirs to keep and use for future robotics programs. Note this program will be free for successful applicants. 

Our funding is based on the program supporting low-SES schools in Victoria who have already shown interest in VEX robotics and would have the capacity to participate. 

The criteria are: 

• The school or individual teacher must have a current DATTA Vic membership 
• The school should already have any of the following VEX programs:  

• Teachers can commit to attending: 

*Schools will be eligible for a $65 grant towards travel to attend the tournament
