The IM-PERMANENT exhibition is a collaboration between RMIT Industrial Design and Ellis Jones, which runs at Abbotsford Convent during Melbourne Design Week, May 18-28 2023.

This show is a survey of Australian creatives working with mycelium - the root-like structure of a fungus which is revolutionising the way we tackle plastic waste.

DATTA Vic has teamed up with RMIT to deliver a FREE schools program targeted at students of Years 7-10 Design & Technologies and VCE Product Design & Technology.

If you are interested in sustainable materials and the circular economy, you can book a guided exhibition tour with an exhibitor. Your class will see products, posters and videos of exhibitor interviews, as well as information on the material properties of mycelium.

Entry is free, but schools must book a time slot on either the morning or the afternoon. The choices are:

• Mon 22 May - either 10am - 12 noon or 1pm - 3pm
• Tue 23 May - either 10am - 12 noon or 1pm - 3pm
• Wed 24 May - either 10am - 12 noon or 1pm - 3pm
• Thurs 25 May - either 10am - 12 noon or 1pm - 3pm
• Fri 26 May - either 10am - 12 noon or 1pm - 3pm
