Are you need of some STE(a)M project ideas for Years 7 & 8? 

Would you like to chat with other teachers about tools, materials, processes and ideas? 

Join DATTA Vic Committee Member and Head of Faculty at St Monica's College, Michael Gowers, as he gives an in-depth explanation about Engineering Principles and Systems for a Year 7 & 8 project that focusses on sustainability, is low in cost for school and student and encourages student agency throughout the process. 

Attendees will create the project alongside the session and will be able to ask any questions throughout the process! There will be time during this session for all teachers attending to converse with each other and share potential Year 7 & 8 projects as well as all things design and technologies! 

Participants will need: 

• A template (which will be sent to you via email) printed on A4 paper
• At least 1 sheet of A4 Corrugated cardboard – can be the side of photocopy box
• 1 x  pack of bamboo skewers
• 1 x pack of bamboo drinking straws
• 2 x milk bottle lid
• 1 x  pair of scissors
• 1 x roll of tape (ideally gaffa or duct tape)
• 1 x hot glue gun
• 1 x ruler
• 1 x HB pencil/sharpie
