Have you needed some quality time to experiment with resin, silicone mould making and new emerging materials to use with your students in class?
Do you need to understand the safety aspects or how to use these materials in your classroom?
Would you like to learn about alternate ways of prototyping and model making, especially with materials that give a refined, professional finish?
Well, this is the professional learning session you’ve been waiting for!
Join Scott, the co-owner and founder of Art Tree Creations, in his studio in Bayswater, as he takes you through a hands-on learning experience looking at the ‘how tos’ of:
- Resin
- Jesmonite – the brand of a composite material which is a combination of gypsum (a mineral created from sedimentary rock) and water-based acrylic resin
- Using correct techniques to combine these with timber
- Creating your own silicone mould from start to finish
All participants will leave with sample pieces they have created which they can have on hand to show their students! These can help to inspire student creativity when designing and move them away from some of the more conventional production methods!
Participants will also be given the opportunity to look around at all the other amazing products and sample products ‘Art Tree Creations’ have on offer, that can be used in various way in the Design and Technologies classroom.
This professional learning experience is directed to all teachers in the Design and Technologies realm – be it primary or secondary. If you’d like to invite teachers from the Visual Arts faculty at your school, this session is also very applicable for them and their students.
