During this professional learning workshop, led by former committee member and super experienced technologies teacher, Anthony Gasson, you will learn what you need to know to get started with Micro:Bit in the classroom.

Aimed at teachers who have limited to no experience with Micro:Bit and/or coding, you’ll explore how easy it is to deploy Micro:Bit even with limited knowledge of microcontrollers.

In the first part of the day you’ll learn the basics, with a combination of guided learning and mini challenges. We’ll then spend the afternoon working through an inquiry lesson from a student's point of view.

After this workshop you will leave with ideas for how you can deploy Micro:Bit in your own classroom, along with the contacts of likeminded teachers from around the state.

Participants will explore AI in Planning, AI Art, AI in technology and coding, and Understanding AI. This will cover; how teachers can use AI in their planning to be more efficient, skills in AI Art creation using software design tips and implementation in classes, how AI can be used in coding with technology and a deeper level understanding of the backend of AI through hands-on exploration of memory processes and practical techniques.

The workshop will bridge the gap between theory and application and develop skills in creating interactive projects that demonstrate the principles of predictive analytics and model practical understanding of AI concepts without the need for extensive coding knowledge. The program culminates in the application of AI to hands-on projects, where participants integrate AI with physical computing devices and tools that assist in code generation, equipping them with the skills to navigate the dynamic landscape of artificial intelligence and its real-world applications.
